i have a 95 max gle

i am having trouble with the idle

when i am in drive and not moving the car starts the idle funny
the tachometer needle jumps up and down not to drastic but it is very annoying when in the car you feel the car jumping a little
i recently had a tune-up, oil change and i cleaned the throttle body

any other suggestions to remedy my problem will be appreciated

thanks

You'd have to read some threads in this forum. I believe we had a previous person post this same scenario and someone answered it. It is exactly what you were stating in your post. Apparently this is a problem all maximas face. It's not that big a problem. Sorry can't be of more help.

That my friend is the oxygen sensor. I have the same problem with my 96 GLE. My RPM is alittle bit jumpy too. I think that it costs 70 - 90 $ to replace it at Nissan. NOT A BIG DEAL THO. Is your check engine light on sometimes ?????

humm....funny....i have almost the same problem.....when i finished driving some where and put to "P", sometime like a few minute before i turn off my engine the idle suddently jumps up 100RPM and immideatly goes back to normal, but doesn`t happen while driving.......and what`s weird is that i noticed while stoped in gear and temperature is warm the idle dropps down to 550RPM...is that normal?.....thx!:( ;)

my 98 maxima se does that when i start the car (engines cold), the idle goes up to 1000rpm then drops and goes back to normal.

well right there the problem is narrowed down.

tuneup = did you change all 6 spark plugs ? correct gap ? NGK ?, air filter right size ? fuel filter right size ? .............

throttle body, how did you clean it ?

Check to make sure your throttle body is not dirty, gap on your plugs, and check your fuel filter. Those are obvious reasons... Good luck :D
