92-95 intake mpfi swap few questions..

ok,I just spent alot of hours searching & learning about this,
I cant seem to find the 88-91 si mpfi,but I have great access to a 92-95 mpfi at a junkyard for 40.00,w/injectors(wont need),injector plugs(great),sensors,
ok let me get to the point,
If I was to buy that intake (because I want an obx intake off ebay later)
all I would need is:
88-91 si injectors(maybe from what I've read-but I would get them anyways)
pm6/pg7/pm7 ecu
88-91 si distributor
injector resistor box
fuel line to fuel filter(from 92 intake?)
throttle cable(don't need at the momment--but I DO!)-(also from 92 civic??)
then do the mpfi setup?
I know this is all over the internet & I've searched the af forums & so on,
but nobody gets to the real point, its just a bunch of this & that.
ppl wanting to swap harness's over from 0bd1 to 0bd0---NOT ME!
aren't the 92-95 intake & 88-91 intakes (mpfi's) practicly the same,
besides theres a map sensor located on the 92-95's intake.
but the mpfi setup has been on my mind alot! & I'm going to go with it.
thanks for any help!
(also,I just read this:
-Connect the C1 wire to the blue/green wire on the CPS (the sensor is inside the Distributor on a SOHC engine). For doing this I suggest swapping out to the proper Si distributor plug so it is all plug and play and looks clean.
-Connect the C2 wire to the blue/yellow wire on the CPS.)
so does this mean I can use my dx distributor if I rewire it?
or buy a si distributor & plug & play?(or is it just the plug? distributor plug?/wiring harness plug?) ---im lost on that one.
(but its not a big deal,,,my motivation tells me to get an si distributor & rewire just like it says!)
thanks!!!

Yes, all MPFI manifolds are nearly identical. You can use any one from a 88-00 civic/crx/delsol as long as it is a dseries. So yes, that manifold will work fine. The only meaningfull difference is that the map sensor is on the throttle body and not the firewall. Easy fix, unplug it from the firewall and plug it into the throttle body. Done. Then, you can ditch all those messy vacuum hoses from the firewall.
As for the distributor, you MUST use an 88-91 Si or HF distributor. The dx will not work, it is different internally as it is missing two sensors.
For the fuel line, i've always used an 88-91 si or 90-93 integra. And for the throttle cable, i've always used an 88-91 si or 90-93 integra as well. I've done over 100 swaps for the shop I work at and we order those fuel lines and throttle cables in bulk from honda.
I'm sure you can get the 92-95 throttle cable and fuel line to work though with a little work if they don't work perfect already.

Search on here for mpfi. I think one dude did a write up recently about his experience with it and the one detail nobody had mentioned about grounding a wire to the purge valve (what he calls it).

well,
I just went to the junkyard today & picked up the fuel rail, throttle cable, fuel line (to the fuel filter),the cover for the wires on the mpfi, the plugs from the harness to the fuel injectors & I snatched a bunch of stuff:
injectors,bolts,gaskets,ext...
but I noticed that its an automatic,so I couldn't of used the mpfi setup,
(from what I've read)
so now I'm in search of an mpfi,si distributor & a injector resistor box,I keep looking on ebay & can't seem to find the right one(mpfi),besides the mini mpfi on the 92 civic cx,vx's,ext..

daym man, I just sent like 10 of those 92-95 dx/ex manifolds to the junkyard. If you need any throttle bodies or sensors from them, let me know. Yah, i'd recommend a 92-95 dx/ex manifold anyway...the 88-91 si manifolds are a little smaller, especially the 88's. And for the automatic manifold, are you talking about the EGR valve on the passenger side of the manifold? You can use it no problem, it just looks tacky. Just plug the vacuum lines off of it w/ screws and just don't use the plug on it, that's all.
But your best bet is a 92-95 manifold like i said, or better yet, a 96-00 ex manifold. Now that i think about it, i have one left if you want it. $50 shipped n it's yours. It's the type-r manifold for dseries.

well..I'm glad I read this before heading to the junkyard again!
what years it from,I'm going to do some researching on it after I wright this,
but,yea I'll take it,
does it come with the throttle body?sensors?bracket?
thats really all I need, the injectors would be great too!
I can get the sensors & bracket, throttle body from the junkyard,
but hes trying to tax for that stuff,
but mines a 5spd,will it work wheather its automatic or not?
I know I still need the resistor,pm6 & si dizzy,
I just posted up on the classifieds that I needed this stuff.
but let me know!
ok,I just done a quick research on the type-r,
its on the d16y8 motor,
"It has short, fat runners and a large chamber to allow the air to distribute to each cylinder properly. Also, for the non-vtec guys out there, it has the common horizontal throttle body, which will allow you to use the larger CAI's"

&
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1018993
just let me know all your willing to sell,
because this seems a bit much of a swap, but not too much.
so pretty much the only real differences I found,is bewteen the automatic & manual,
for the eacv/iacv.
which one is the one your wanting to sell?
thanks

actually man, I just realized i sold it a couple months ago, i totally forgot. But, I do have a 92-95 EX intake manifold w/ all sensors and throttle body. It just doesn't have the fuel injectors. But, you don't need the obd1 injectors anyway (although you can make them work with a little extra wiring).
I also have a PM6 ecu. You can have the complete intake manifold and PM6 ecu i have for $100 shipped for everything. let me know man.

ok,
I wasn't too sure about the y8 manifold anyways, there was so much differents & about the iacv/eacv,it was just a big weird mess looking thing,
but I'm pretty sure its bad as hell,
but anyways,I might take you up on that deal,
the junkyards gotta 92-95 ex manifold also
(its automatic, not sure if it matters or not)
& I was actually going to go up there today & see what he wanted for it,
they dont have the pm6,but its all over ebay,
so what I'm going to do,is call the junkyard tomorrow & see what they want for the intake & tb,check around again on ebay to c the pm6,
and practicly man, just round it off, whichever ways the best I should go,
thanks for the offer because 100.00 w/shipping is a killer deal.
btw do you accept paypal?
& what would you want for the pm6 alone?
thanks
Randy

Aigght, I just did a search on ebay for you.
The cheapest pm6 was $48 shipped, so I'll do $45 shipped for that to you.
The cheapest manifold was $45 shipped without throttle body, fuel rail, and any sensors, just a bare manifold.
So, I can do $50 shipped on that for you...because I'm sending you EVERYTHING
so basically what I said before...$98 shipped is the cheapest I can go. Let me know.
I forgot that also have 2 Si distributors as well. If you still need one of those, let me know. I can do those for you for $75 a piece. So basically, if you buy everything from me, I'll do it all for $170 shipped. I won't go much lower than that, because I'm basically doing you a favor here...i can get rid of all this stuff on ebay for near $250 if i wanted to.

ok,I just got an si distributor I think, off of h4bangin for 50.00,but he hasn't replied back yet,but I just sent the money through paypal yesterday,
so I'm going to wait a few days,
but I just called the junkyard & he wants 45.00 for the intake & 25 for the tb,
70.00,so I dont know, its an automatic car,so would that matter?
but if anything I might jump on that pm6.

Well, it doesn't matter if it's from an auto. But, like i said, i have one from a 92-95 5speed EX if you want it w/ all sensors, fuel rail, and TB for $50 shipped. and $48 shipped for the ECU.
let me know.
so I'm going to wait a few days,
but I just called the junkyard & he wants 45.00 for the intake & 25 for the tb,
70.00,so I dont know, its an automatic car,so would that matter?

ok,did want to make a new post over a simple question,so hope somebody will see this,
but does the 91 accord ex injector resistor box work with the mpfi swap?

You can run 92-95 injectors and do away with the resistor box.

You can run 92-95 injectors and do away with the resistor box.
ok,so heres where we run into this:
can I run obd1 injectors (92-95) with a 0bd0 ecu (pm6) with or without resistor box!!!
I have read & read all about this, plus I do have the 0bd1 injectors right here,
but I was brought to the attention of using 0bd0 injectors with resistor box,
if using obd1 injectors I had to convert to obd1 harness+ecu,
but I read this:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/printthread.php?t=173362
that says I could just throw in the obd1 injectors with no resistor box & obdo pm6 ecu, some say use the resistor box with obd1 injectors,,,but....
heres what I'm wanting to do:
obd1 intake
obd1 injectors
obdo wiring harness
obdo ecu
obdo dizzy
w/no injector resistor box..
is this possible?
also,1 more thing,
if I was not going to use a resistor box, where would the wires go (from fuel injectors) that would have went to the resistor box,(yellow/black)
so I'm actually all 0bd1,except for my si dizzy & wiring harness....
92 block,94 head,92-95 intake
thanks alot to anyone helping me out,
because over the past week,I've spent alot of money & time into doing this.

Yep, very possible. The only issue *might* be the injector clip; but if they're included with the obd1 manifold, just simply de-pin them and swap them over(you just need a small precision flathead screwdriver to do this).
Reason why you don't need a resistor box is simple:
OBD1 injector=~13ohms
OBD0 injector=~3ohms
OBD0 injuector+resistor box=~13ohm
If you don't use a resistor box but keep the obd0 wiring, just connect all the injector (+) wires to the yellow/black wire on the engine bay connector.

sorry for getting you to do all that info, but after doing some research myself,
I really just think I'm going to stay with the obdo (peak & hold) injectors,
& stay with the injector resistor box,
(just because the swaps everywhere & has been done & works)
I havent seen an exact swap info page on what I was trying to do,
so its not a big deal, all I need is obdo injectors, easy find.
but 1 last thing if anyone would know this,
will a 91 accord ex resistor box work? (they said it would)
it comes with the harness plug,so I'm wanting it pretty bad.
I know this threads went a little ways, but I'm trying to clear everything up on paper/computer,so I've got everything & everything can work right.
so far this is all the info I need.
thanks

Yes, you can use the accord resistor box. All it is, is a box with 4 6 ohm resistors in it. That doesn't change no matter what honda you get the resistor box from. You could actually just get 6 ohm resistors from radioshack and wire them inline, it would be the same damn thing.
Now for the injectors.
using obd0- you will take the two yellow w/ black stripe wires that go to the stock dpfi injector clips and cut them, solder them together. Then, you will solder those two wires to the yellow/blk wire that goes into the resistor box. All that is, is 12 volts going into the resistor box. Then, for the new four injectors, you will take the red/blk wires from each injector clip, and solder them to the red/blk wires that go into the resistor box. It doesn't matter which one you solder to which red/blk wire, because they are all seeing 6 ohms of resistance. Peak and hold injectors need this resistance to operate properly. So, basically the 12 volts comes from the ecu, then it goes thru the resistor box, where it goes thru a 6 ohm resistor, then it goes to the injector.
If using OBD0 injectors, you must use the obd0 injector clips.
Now, if you want to use saturated injectors (most obd1/2).
It's the same exact thing, except the injectors don't need the resistance, so you don't wire in the resistor box. You just take the four power wires (for obd1/2 injectors they are yellow/blk instead of red/blk) and just solder them in one big group to the two yellow/blk wires that originally went to the stock dpfi injectors. Done. Now, you are sending straight 12 volts to the injectors, instead of having that 12 volts first travel through 6 ohm resistors, and then to the injectors like the obd0 peak and hold injectors. For obd1 injectors however, you must solder on the obd1 injector clips instead of the obd0 injector clips.
If you need any additional wiring tips, let me know, as I've done this wiring conversion nearly 60 times. I work at a local import shop and I do all the wiring for engine swaps, as well as all the engine building.
Also, you didn't get back to me about the manifold/ecu/tb combo. I also have injectors and injector clips if you need them. Let me know what a fair price for you is on any of this stuff, and that's what I'll sell it to you for.

wow,
you seriously hooked me up with info,
I'm on lunch right now from work,
I get off at 4:00 & I'll write ya then
I think the obd1 injectors is my chioce, seems easier.
write back later

ok,no matter what I'm going with obd1 injectors because I already have them,
I now understand what I have to do when hooking up the injectors,(instead of the resistor box)no website I could find would give that example,
but anyways,I can still use the pm6 with this obd1 injector setup?
thats all I need to know,
thanks alot bam for helping me out,
also,I just went up to the junkyard today & got the tb/intake,bracket,hoses + the 180 degree hose, all the sensor plugs & a 4 wire plug2plug for detaching the 4 wires from the ecu on the harness,
the reason I wanted to just go up there & get that is so I would know that I had everything I needed,bracket,hoses,.....
but I paid 70$ for it & you was offering 50$ with shipping,so I'll be honest you gave me a better deal, but I also wanted to make sure I had everything for it,
I got the pm6 off of someone here on AF,but I havent got it yet,but sure i will
thanks again for helping me out.
btw,do you have an si distributor?
(I''ve got one coming, but a spares always a good thing.)

yah, i got a few of those si disributors laying around. $75 each shipped.
As for the ecu, all ecu's are the same when it comes to the injectors. You can run obd1 injectors on an obd0 ecu and vise versa no problem. But, you cant run saturated (most obd1/2) injectors w/ resistors.
