Hey If anybody can help me, please do. I'm going to get keyless entry/alarm for my car, and was wondering if anyone knew if Commando brand was any good? This is what i was lookin at Commando alarm (http://www.commandoalarms.com/itm10001.htm) . Or does anyone recommend anything different? I'm looking to get one around the first of August. The price was really good for what you get, and I can install it. So, please help me~! Thanks y'all :licker:

No I haven't gotten any alarm yet....grr... but hopefully sometime soon I will... Financial issues came up and took the money I was going to use for the alarm....which really sucked..

I just bought a set of power door locks from Commando alarms. It came 2 days after i ordered and has some pretty good directions so maybe the alarm won't be too bad to install. :silly2:

I purchased one about 2 years ago from them. It was called the Commando-Combo. Its features were Keyless entry with remote start and alarm in one for only about $75.00. Not sure if I could install the alarm system, I called to inquire about the difficulty in installing the alarm system. I spoke to a lady who said that "It comes with detailed instructions" I figured i'd save a few bucks by doing it myself. Well, I was not able to accomplish this task. I ended up trying to find someone to install the alarm for about a month. I checked with the local alarm/car stereo places in the area. No one would bother unless it's their unit. When I finally found someone who would install the alarm (Alarm/stereo installer doing side work) I had to travel 2 hours one way and wait about 2 hours for the install. Very, Very inconveneient. It cost me $125.00 to have it installed.
Every now and then, I noticed that the remote start would not operate properly. When I activated the remote start feature, it would try to start and turn off. Boy, I hated having to have to go out in the winter to start my car. I figured it was the quality of the alarm and would live with it.
About 8 months later, one of the remotes went out. I figured I'd put it off a bit. About a month later, the second one went out. When I called the seller, I explained the problem with the remotes. They said that they were sorry but the alarm only has a 90 day warranty. I responded the my owners manual said that the entire unit is warranted for a year. The guy asked me to fax a copy of the warranty and I did. I called later in the day to inquiry what I should do for warranty repair/replacement. The guy claimed that the fax never arrived. So I faxed it again and never heard from them again.
Now, my car has a no usable alarm.
BTW, I also noticed that most places will install a similar alarm locally for $249.99 and they normally offer a Lifetime Warranty. I'll tell you, its nice to be able to drive into a place to have the alarm checked when you have trouble. I'd never do this again. BUYER BEWARE!
