Quick Dumb Question

Ok..dumb question. But I hope its not TOO dumb. When I first got my Caprice, I dont recall having to turn the light knob once in order to see how fast im going, the amount of miles, etc.

But now in order to see that, I have to either turn the knob once so that my parking lights are on, or turn it twice so that the headlights are on.

Did something fuck up in my car since I got it, or am I imagining things?

Sounds like something fucked up. Do you have electronic spedo & odometer? I have not heard this one before.

What year is your car? I've got a 95 that's almost the same when the lights aren't on it's hard to read the digital gauges but when it's night time and the lights are on it's just as bright as normal. Took it to a dealer to have them check it and it's the gauge cluster that's starting to go out on mine causing it to be dim.

Look at this link - Fading instrument cluster fix.

Came across this poking around, and I don't even have digital dash!

This may sound kinda dumb as well, but if this is a police pkg make sure that the "light-killer" (sorry, don't know what else to call it) switch is not pushed. Its located near the ashtray, on the right, where the cigarette lighter would be in a non-9c1 caprice. If this switch is on, none of the dash lights will work without turning on the headlights.
