i was just checking out insurance quotes for 1g talon AWD and they are all over $160/month! i've never gotten a speeding ticket and never been in an accident

what kind of insurance do you guys have and what are u paying

geico i think or progressive, they gave me a quote

Mine was 110 a month with basic coverage

geico just gave quoted me at $161 and progressive was similar...its not looking good

I'm paying for a 98 Ford Explorer with full coverage and the Ford T-bird with just liability, I have 1 speeding ticket, 1 expired inspection and I've taken Defensive driving course and the wife took drivers ed. My monthly payments are $135 with Geico!!!!

Alot of it has to do with age, driving record and car. I am 42yo no tickets in the last 5yrs and with my Conquest, RX7, and 86 Prelude my insurance was 130 a month for all 3 vehicles, now that my 18yo daughter is on my policy it is $317 with her and I using just the 96 Prelude and the 98 3000GT. Go to US Agencies.com I was with State farm but these guys gave me the cheapest rate.

I pay $410 every 6 months(all-state). Put my mom as the owner though! If If I didnt...it probably be like 700 every 6 months.

Oh yea and the cool thing is, it didnt change in price when I went from NT 91 ES Talon to the AWD TSi 92 Talon. At that time(i was 18) it was like $110 a month. But it went down once I turned 20.

I pay $515 per 6 months. Was $650, but since I turned 20 it went down. Maybe it'll go down again when I turn 21... ONLY 27 more days!! The car is in my Dads name, and we got 4 cars total in the family.

I pay 150 a month for my 97 Gst spyder, my 99 gs spyder was 190ish...Also 2 accidents only one my fault (I was backed over and the other I slid into a pole over black ice) and no tickets (that are recorded :))

But I have a discount when I turned 20. And I have a 10% off for having gone to drivers school.

I'm with erie insurance of PA. I have pretty much full coverage. But I'm on my parents plan. They get a discount because we have been with them for over 20 years and have life, homeowners, auto insurance from them.

On my own however it's a bit rediculous they want almost 300 a month if i were to have my own policy.

On my 2002 Chevy Cavlier (4-dr too) it was $850 for six months. And that was before I got my two tickets and on my dads insurance!

Damn... Why is everyones insurance so high? I am still on my parents plan but damn I had 3 tickets when I was younger and my brother rolled his car. His part of the insurance is way high but mine was unaffected by anything. It actually came down from 120 a month to 90 a month when I bought my Talon. I'm hoping it comes down even more after I turn 21 since I've had a clean record for the last few years now. :)

Not true. Not one accident on my record. Like I said before, $850 every six months on a 4-dr car on my dads insurance, and that is just for liability. ALSO I forgot to mention in my previous post, that amount I pay includes me being a A+ student and having drivers ed, which is suppose to lower everything....man this is bullshit.

Uh...isnt drivers ed required to get your license? In mn you have to take 30 hours classroom and 6 behind the wheel with an instrustor. Atleast i think thats how it is.

Same here... Its all required. If you have like a DUI or something and you take a drivers class then they reduce your fines... Thats the closest thing I know of.

Oh and for your grades to lower your insurance, you have to call your insurance company and tell them you want to qualify for a good student discount. They then need a copy of your report card/grade report and then they lower it. I know I used it when I was in college and it was a nice little thing. :wink:

I pay $300 a month cause I'm black. Jk, but doesn't that seem as stupid as charging more based on sex and age? I think mine is under $100/mo, but I've never gotten a ticket or been in an accident and I'm 23.
