What now for jeeze-o-pete. I replaced the starter and now there's a whining sound on the front end of the truck.
Any ideas?

Is the starter staying engaged?
Maybe binding and sticking so the gear doesnt retract. If so try realigning it. I know it took several tries on mine before I got it lined up properly.

The whining is at idle only (from the best of what I can tell)
Truck starts just fine, nice and normal, and quiet as always; then the whining noise starts.
Don't know if it IS the starter or just coincidental.
FWIW - the sound changes a tad as you turn the steering wheel - while sitting and idling. Powersteering pump, however, has plenty of fluid and was replaced 3yrs ago.
