How do you know if you have a TBI engine???? I'm trying to follow this repair manual, for replacement of the TPS sensor, and it has different repair listings for different engines?? Just need to know if my 1990 Olds 98 Regency 3.8 L is a TBI engine, so I can replace this freakin sensor!
Man I hate these electronic cars!?? Sensors up the corn hole! LOL

Not tbi it is a sfi, check autozone.com/repair info for an online manual.

TBI ENGINES
To remove the TPS on these engines, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the two attaching screws. Make sure throttle is in normal closed idle position then install the TPS on the TBI assembly. With the TPS lever located ABOVE the tang on the actuator lever, install the attaching screws using a thread locking compound. Reconnect electrical connector. No adjustment is necessary.

A car with throttle body injection will look like it has a carb. on it. The air cleaner usually sits on top of TBI and if you have TBI just remove the air cleaner. If it looks like a carb with an injector or two sticking out of it then it is TBI. Otherwise you have multiport fuel injection.

Olds tbi 3.8's never had tbi from 1985 forward. I checked the link it is for a 5.7 98 truck??? Lots of time wasted for all here!
