I have a 2002 LSV8 sport and I noticed what sounds like some light grinding or metal on metal rubbing when I step on the brakes. It seems that i get a similar noise when i turn right or left at slow speeds. The problem might be wheel bearings or brakes, but Has anybody else had this issue and can confirm an exact problem?

My LS uses semi-metalic brake pads and makes a slight metal scraping noise that can be heard at low speeds. If you are unsure you should have a pro check it out.

You may also have a rust build-up on the inner our outer edge of the brake rotor braking surfaces. When you lightly apply the brakes, they rub on the higher rust spots. If the brake springs are not holding the brake pads snugly, they may be shifting during turns and the friction material is again making contact with the rust spots. If this is the case, you will probalby be able to look at the rotor braking surface and notice polished areas on the rust.
