Everything. :( Let's just say that due to my clumsiness, I was nearly put in the hospital that I'm working for!

Oh well. Called my guy. He cheered me up. He laughed at me too, but it was well deserved. :silly2:

I'm so sorry to hear about that, Dante...

First day jitters are the worst. Work your way through the butterflies, and I'm sure you'll make it there just fine. You are a really dedicated woman, so whatever you put your heart into you will succeed at. :)

Sorry to hear it was stressful for you, things will get better as you overcome those 'new job' nerves. It's good that you have found a nice job,and that you have a supportive guy behind you....things definitely seem to be on the rise for you,if you can only find a way to see the buds opening as well as the thorns;) .

First job jitters?

My son just graduated from college and is working for the first time. Four weeks into a job and he tells me he's ready for a vacation!

You might want to ask him how he is being treated. Maybe he isn't just whining... maybe something serious is going on!

My first job right out of college was terrible. They put me on salary, and required me to work 18-20 hours a day. I remember one day I installed an entire network system with 10-15 computers, routers, etc... ran cable through the roof... all in one 24-hour period. When they showed up at 9AM (I was still working), they yelled at me and threw away my pizza (lunch and breakfast) because it took up space in the company fridge. That install would've been a $6,000 job if they out-sourced it, but with my low wages it only cost them about $50. Plus they got to strip me of my humanity and laugh too.

There were worse things going on, but that is the cleanest one I can post.

I hate new job jitters! Don’t worry about it though Dante, in no time at all it’ll feel like you’ve been there forever! :p

I think its only natural that first days are the worst. New people to meet, new ways of doing things etc etc....but you will get over it. You will look back in a month or two and have a good laugh when you are the "old hand" and some newbie starts.

I'm actually only there for four weeks and then it's time to move into my new apartment back in Oregon! :D

DMC, actually he's working as a temp in quality control at a warehouse that ships adhesive tapes for commercial use. He takes samples and sees if they pass a test, then okays the shipment. His background was in enviromental chemistry and polymers. He actually is bored with this job as it is just repitition everyday. He wants to be in research to create things and actually looks forward to a more responsible job.

Of course on the weekend, he turns his hat around and plays lead guitar with a bunch of guys in a practice studio. They are trying to write original material.
