Rivits/Steering wheel

How can i replace my peanut butter door handles? The main problem behind that is the fact that their rivited! I drive a 97 mustang v6. Also I would like to know how to take off the sterring wheel, i did take the big screw out of the middle of the wheel and i got a steering wheel puller but it still wont come off. Any secrets or somthing I'm missing thank you.
