Converting 1997 Jimmy to 2001 Envoy front end?

Greetings all!
I have a 1997 4X4 SLT Jimmy that sustained significant front-end damage, but the motor and frame were both untouched. The current list of parts I need to put it back together are:
Radiator (with integrated oil cooler)
Radiator support
Radiator center support bracket
Headlight assemblies
Hood w/ release lever
Front fenders, left and right, inside and out
MAF sensor
Intake
Fan w/ shroud
A/C Condensor
Grille
Front bumper
Front air deflector (under bumper)
...and a slew of miscellaneous wires and hoses. The damage seems to have stopped at the fan: I have started the car and it does run, and while the belt should probably be replaced, the pullys all look straight. The frame pieces that extend to the front pulling hooks were also unbent (though the bushings that the front-end mounted to were trashed). I feel confident that I can put it back together, but would rather buy newer parts to convert the front-end and update its look, such as the 2001 Envoy (which look very similar and AFAIK based on the same body.. I believe the 02's are different). My question is, are these bolt-compatible? Do the envoy radiators have the integrated oil cooler? If not, I could always install a separate oil cooler, or use the 97 jimmy radiator if it fits. Either way, I will probably install an electric fan instead of the motor fan. Thoughts? Concerns? Anyone tried this or something similar?

when i bought my 01 jimmy, the sales hole tried to get me to upgrade to the "jimmy envoy" in 01, the "envoy was mostly an option package like "diamond edition, seats, dash, side moldings, etc. the 01 envoys i have seen look identical to my 01 jimmy, just cost more new cause they were optioned out. the 02 envoy was the one that changes completely, looked like the new blazers from 02-on. the only front end difference was the driving/fog lites were in the front end spoiler. go to gmpasrts direct and use the 01 jimmy/envoy for the vehicle to search parts and look up hood/fenders/bumper , etc. and then compare to a jimmy 01. there is some difference in the bottom side plastic, but not much else. good luck, i hate body work. too easy to screw up, cause ya can't hide it from view!!!:grinyes::grinyes:

Exactly! Which is why I want to get every body part from the firewall to the bumper matching, and not have to tweak anything to make it work. Drilling holes to mount things won't be too bad, but I don't want to do any other modifications. Any idea if the transition between the fenders and doors will match? I should really look for a used car lot with a '01 envoy and check it out, eh?

you need to ask for blazee or old master to pass on some wisdom about the diff. between 94 and 01. 1998-2001 is direct fit, older than that i can't speak with confidence. good luck, grass hopper!!:sleep:

This is pretty much just a bolt on conversion. You'll need these parts for a 1998 - 2001:
Radiator core support
Grill
Headlight assembly
Turn signal assembly
Get the rest of the parts that you need to rebuild your front end for a 1997.
