Supra-New for 07

I've read articles about Toyota bringing the Supra back with a different power plant and this is pretty much what I came up with. Feel free to post other links about it.

knew about it months ago, but i think its a failure. looks like a rejected 350Z and no turbo power.

So its a no go for it? That kind of sucks. Think of what that thing could do boosted.

^ I do to. The front end almost looks like that of an Aston Martin. The rims look like they are off of a Gallardo.

Weak sauce....just bring back the MkIV. That is all.

but the power plants didn't look too bad... 350whp off a 3.5l engine? that isn't bad at all!!! 100hp per liter is never bad.

the 5.0v8 i betcha will have a lesser aftermarket support and not be a worthwhile investment. that is if it ends up anything like the 3g eclipses.

overall styling isn't bad though, i'd like to see it in person before i made a decision on it

i like the Mk II. i think they look cool in person. great styling for an 80s car imo.

yes it is rumored to make 350hp for the v6 to compete with the Z and the v8 would make around 500hp to compete with the GTR.

but thats where it ends. to get any more real power out of it, it would cost a fortune. while the new GTR stuck to its roots and stayed boosted. it should be a breeze to squeeze another 100hp out of the new VQDETT.

and becasue they made the supra like that, they lost the roots of the legend that the MARK IV left behind. its kinda like when the SC300 became the SC430. the japanese toyota soarer ( the SC300 ) came with a 1JZ GTE which is a twin turbo 2.5 liter. people hook those cars up like crazy and they were basically a bigger 4 seater supra. when the v8 soarer came out, it got a luke warm reception and its not as big of a hit as the boosted soarers.

Alteza is the only current one. We get it as the IS Lexus. Not two doors, but pretty sporty.

I am glad the sports car market is coming back. This news is making me wait on buying a project car and see how I like the new stuff (depending on how it is priced.. from what I hear the GTR will be out of my price range, the supra may be in the high end of my price range).

First of all the GT-R is a Nissan car not a Toyota, and second, the front end on the first one is looks like crap, and the rear end and fenders of the second one are hideous, Nissan's design is way better

^thats one of toyota's concept, its called the Alessandro Volta, and Toyota's design team does not suck, it's either you hate it or you like it, the same with any cars out there

there are probably more nice looking toyotas out there, those that never made it to the united states, and those that i may have forgotten, not to mention Lexus and Scion

i was talking cars that we dont get here in any shape or form

the IS isnt that far from an altezza, different engine and luxury options but were talking the same car.

I meant cars like the Chaser, that are badass but we never got them and are being produced today.
the altezza is already out of production.
