I have a Mazda 626 and Nissan Max. both 98 model... I think Max is a better vehicle.. but 626 responds better to the gas pedal.. especially the initial respose... my Max has a poor throttle response.. is this normal or do I have to check something???. what are the factors which causes power loss???.. thanx in advance...

check the idle speed on ur max, every now and then i have to tighten my throttle cable and it responds a lot better, that and not gettin enough air into the engine(intake) will kill power some, that and if ur AC is on that will kill it too

Also knock sensors will hurt your response and not set off the cel. so you might want to pull your codes and check for anything out of the ordinary. or you could try cleaning out your tb. just a couple of ideas for ya.

All of thees people are right. 1.tighten your throtel cable. 2.clean out your throttel body or better yet go get it polished out I did,its not expensive. 3.definatly get an intake cold air intakes are best ,like the one from place racing or cattman they both come with monster flow filters(DAM GOOD AIR FILTER),if you live in a rainy place do not cut out the bottom piece of the fender well(plastic)if you live in a cool dry place than tear into it. 4.an under drive pully from unorthodoxracing will help you it does not realy give you any horse power it simply gives you back what the other components in your car have stolen from your engine.(realy smart up grade). Just remember EVERY LITTLE THING HELPS it all adds up.:D

go to maximadriver.com then go to the HOW TO section this will tell you the exact corect way on how to perform this install.(just do what it says) thats what i did.now the part wher i said cut or dont cut.well when you get to the part wher you gota put the filter on the side of the pipe that is in the fender wall, the part I CUT OUT OFF MY CAR is that big ol nasty piece of plastic that needs to be partialy removed and bent back twords the tire to gain acces to the other side of the pipe, that ugly flap is what i removed I sugest you do the same unless you plan on going scuba diving lol (that means your intake submerged in water) the angel of the filter and the fender wall are in a way so that even w/ that piece removed you shouldent get any water.thus no water no problems.tell the rain gods:finger: they cant mess w/ your cold air monster stack.

DTM MAX DO NOT BUY AN AEM STYLE BYPASS VALVE! SHURE IT KEEPS WATER OUT BUT WHATS THER TO KEEP OUT IF YOUR NOT SCUBA DIVEING. (the bypass valve will simply suck in hot engine bay air thuss turning your cold air intake into ,what i like to call a hot air intake or your tipical short ram intake.......NO GOOD sory i left that out in the other th..L8R BRO'' TWISTEDMAXIMA'' RACE HARD, DRIVE FAST :bandit:
