2006 MUSTANG GT with a V6????

My friend Just got a 2006 Mustang "GT" I put GT in quotation marks because its got a supercharged V6 with supposedly 250 HP. Its got dual exhaust, or atleast dual tips, it has the GT emblems on the sides but not on the rear, and it's got the large fog lights.

Anybody know what the deal is with this? I've never heard of such a set up and frankly I think it's sacriligious to put a v6 in a GT. Did he get ripped off by the dealer? He doesnt know much about cars and I tried asking him about it and he doesnt really seem to notice or care about the difference.

Ford just made a 250 hp V6 http://www.autoblog.com/2005/11/09/breaking-news-ford-announces-new-3-5l-v6-and-six-speed/ I havent heard about them putting it in GT's though.

it is probably a v6 mustang with some GT emblems stuck on it. as far as the supercharger goes; a superchargered 4.0 v6 should definatly make more than 250hp. that is, if it actually is supercharged.

only reason i didnt say that is because arent the pony package fog lights smaller? he said he had large fog lights... but your probably right.

i would still be surprised if it made only 250hp with a blower on it. Yeah, a supercharger would add more then 40 hp, even with low stock PSI, you can get that with bolt on's. It would make around 300.

I havent looked at the speedo and it does have the bullets.

I'm just baffled by this car. Maybe it's just some sort of dealership special.

umm ok... my life is probably better than yours because i have a BRAIN and im not a complete tool.

I saw the engine quickly today...no blower. My friend is clueless as to what type of engine it is. I think it's the stock 210 HP V6 although I wouldnt know what one looks like either. Anyone know where I can see a pic?

Yeah he's got the standard V6. He bought it new and claims it has only 25 less HP than mine but I'm pretty sure the dealer fed him a bunch of BS.

yeah those dealers are dicks. most of them dont even know anything about the cars anyway. i can remember one in particular who had no clue what he was talking about.

Something just doesn't seem right. The dealer would have had to have put some work in to it to make it that way and I don’t see them doing that. Even if they used GT take off parts it would take a lot of time out of their Techs day to piece one together and most dealerships make the majority of their from their service departments. There aren't many dealers that would do a custom job like that.

my fiance's brother has a 06 stang v6 with the pony package.. no gt decals on it either. i think your buddy took a trip to the ford dealership, bought some decals and put them on in an effort to fool you... sounds like your friend may be a very big uncle ben's lover

was it 100% brand new or dealer used. Did they drive home and stuff? Did it have several hundred miles or around 20 miles?

Its just a dealer that put GT badges on a v-6 and found someone stupid enough to buy it

Just so you know it's not the techs that would rebadge the car. It would be the detailing department.

I am a line tech for Hall Dodge, so I know that all the "Thunder Road" Rams are just badges that detailing slaps on.


Hell you never know, someone could have screwed up on the assembly line?:lol:
