I saw today that it is being banned at one school. Whats more, you hear of some sex crime every week with it. I wonder if this is going to become the social napster.

We'll have myspace for a long time if not forever mainly because its not doing anything illegal, unlike Napster when it was first out, so I dont see how you connect the 2 together.. because Napster was all illegal, myspace, isnt, all you do is share information..

And just because theres alot of sex crimes that lead to it, doesnt mean it'll be stopped because its the descision of the user who uses myspace to put up the information they want..

"We pay for school and the resources that are used," said Zeke Santos, 20. "It's our choice, we're the ones paying for our classes. If we pass or fail, it's up to us."

Ok this kid is a moron. Myspace is not a school resource and in no way is it his choice if he should be aloud to use it at school with their comps and internet connections. And what the fuck kind of comment is if we pass or fail its up to us. retard

If I recall correctly (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong) Rupert Murdock owns Myspace now (since he bought the company from whoever owned it prior for a lot of money for rights to it). So....I think it'll be around for a while.

My school is going crazy over myspace. They are saying that all the kids on there that aren't 18 are lying about their age. They also think that the internet is full of sexual predators. I'm sorry, but I've been on the internet about 10x the regular teenager over the past five years and I have never been sexually predatored (that a word), nor has any of the people I talk to on the internet. I even started a poll on a web site and who asked who was sexually [wish I could remember that word]. No one answered yes.

Yup, sounds like stupid high school bullshit. Didn't you know? It's cool to be over 18 .

That's because it is. It's full of sexual deviants who want nothing more than to feed their sick fetish. The only reason you haven't experienced it is probably because you're not a dumbass that posts all your personal information up for the world to see (school, hometown, full name--that's all they would need). Believe it or not, there are plenty of stupid teenagers that are duped into putting their personal information on the net. I could go on about my thoughts on this, but I'll save you.

I'm not even sure what you just said right there

figured it was easier to answer in the quote than quote every line I was responding to.

maybe he was taking a poll of people that were sexually molested. But alot of people wouldn't answer yes if they were for one to alot of people it's to embarrising and 2 it's to private unless they are proud of it or looking for attention by lying about it.

The internet has always been a tool for sexual predators, not just myspace. Anything with chat rooms our messengers or even homepages where there is personal info.

yeah you got a point there. but most people proablyl wouldent want Aim or those type of things to get banned and they think myspace is just an easy target to hit to try and shut it down. Since its one of the most popular friend sites.

Nah it's just the newest thing so its going to take its share of punches until people get tired of rippin it or until something else comes along.
Good movie to watch and it has to do with this -pre myspace- is Strangeland

Don't have one and don't really care to have one. Myspace? I call it my room.

The only reason I got facebook was out of boredom from waiting an hour between classes. Of course at the time it was just for college kids....stupid high schoolers.
