Ford Fiesta Mistral 1.1 injector idle problems

Hi,

Basically, i own a Ford Fiesta Mistral 1.1L petrol (M reg).
It sometimes has a problem starting if left standing for more than a day. This problem gets worse over a period of time. Sometimes it starts and as i drive forward slightly and then reverse to turn out the driveway, it stalls and doesnt re-start. Then for the next few days or weeks it would drive lovely.

This problem has a temporary fix which we were told about by the AA man.
That is to un-screw the air filter and lift it off, and disconnect the auto choke plug from the injector unit.
It then starts okay, and everything is then replaced and the car will be alright for a few weeks. This process is what i have to do everytime this happens!!

The problem is so unpredictable it is becoming a pain!

When it gets really bad i remove the injector point from the centre (under the air filter) and clean the little filter part at its base with carb cleaner. It all looks okay and clean. NOTE This part has also been replaced in order to find the fault and hasnt cured it.
Cleaning it helps it last out a little longer (maybe a month)

Any Ideas or help would be VERY MUCH appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Paul

hi not sure if this is along the same lines, however i recently had same problems with my fiesta (not sure about the whole air box thing etc) but when i was revving car as soo jnas foot was taken off the accel. the car died totally. also car was "juring" or kangarooing should i saw when it was over 3000 revs when on the road! all this was cured by replacing the idle valve.

hope ive helped
