Lowered suspeension: shock problem

I lowered my car a while ago, with adj. coil overs. I never change the height since I installed the coil overs. I lowered it quite a bit, but there is still one finger light between the tire and the fender.
Initially, I put stock shocks, but after just a couple of weeks they worn out. So, following some members’ advice I decided to go with performance shocks. I put adj. KYB shocks. This was less than a month ago and they are already worn out, too. So, what’s the problem? What am I doing wrong?

what kind of coil overs did you get? if they are cheap ones they're probably the spring rate is prolly too high for the shock you are using and you wasted money on those shocks. other than that i don't know.

I don't remember exactly what brand they are (I believe it Pro Speed). the spring rates are 350. Is this too high?
