Well I finally got my race but it sucked and it's not over yet.
I was driving up a street called Upper James. I was coming from getting gas. I happened to notice a black Sunbird with tinted windows and a moon roof a few cars a head. This guy was driving aggressively. I ignored this guy just wanting to go home. This street by the way has become a cruising strip in the pass couple of years. So anyway, I made my way up beside him due to traffic and he down shifts and begins to pump his gas. Really cool. So I figure this is my chance. I had my air conditioning on so I turned it off and down shifted as well. We did this a couple of times but I didn't want to go due to traffic. We slowed traffic a bit to get the light and it worked. This guy was in high school buy the way and during the light I was beginning to feel foolish and worring about cops. :-) I forgot all that when the light turned green. When the light turned green I lauched at about 4500 RPM. It was ok the feeling of lauching was weird because I got a new clutch about a month about and have never took off fast once with the thing. It was surprising nice. I spun out a while and this guy when up a head of me. I didn't get great grip put I started to gain nicely when the RPMs got up there. So I shifted to second , got a nice chirp and I passed the guy like he was standing still. Hmmmm that's not right. He turned off on to the side of the road right away. I guess he missed a shift or something broke. So I almost had my race with a Sunbird but not quite. Oh I got a nice chirp in third to and then I stopped. I just enjoyed the new clutch. I was always a little worried about the new clutch. The new clutch felt like it was worn. I told the tranny guy and he laughed. He told me that the clutch is a thinner type of material but works better and lasts longer than stock. I thought that's bull but the perfornance of the the clutch last night was impressive.
Have fun.
