Hey guys i don't know if yall remeber, i posted a while ago i had an rs, and i was gonna race a firebird, the v6, or v8, and i also posted that i was gonna sell it, well good news i sold it for 6k, and i found a 91 Talon AWD tsi 5 speed, with a killer engine, they told me its the enigne with the 6 bolt cyclone throttel body, yea i bought it for 4k, its stock right now but with the extra money i need to mod it out if yall could give some advice on the mods i need. And also im gonna race the fire bird this time and my friend 2005 jetta 1.8 Turbo so u think i got a chance this time with 91 firebird than before when i had the rs, and do i have a chance with the jetta 1.8 Turbo Thanks I would greatly apriciate it.

my matches= Stock, Talon Tsi AWD, 5-speed VS 91 FireBird Stock, Auto
VS 2005 VW Jett 1.8T Manual, Stock

I dont know the Firebird even though they look powerful they are heavy. You may beat it with a good lunch and lots of luck but the Jetta, I would bet that he might win. I gove it 50/50. One of my fiend just bought a 1.8 jetta 3 days ago or so and I have to say its pretty fast for 180hp.

dsmtuners.com has a tuning guide with prices and horsepower goals. It's hard to say what to buy when no one knows how far you want to take this car. No one likes bench racing go race and find out who's faster...

Here is some advice: Just go race, what the worst that could happen? You lose. Its not a huge deal.

:spit: Holy fuck man, a 91 TSI AWD for $4000?!?! Jesus, you got fucked on that one. A cyclone tb is definately not a "sick engine". 300hp harder than you think. Just stick to the basic mods and have fun for a while.

The car is nice man. Dont listen to em, just build it and take care of it.

Good luck with the race.

4k for a 1g with a built motor isn't bad. Did he give you any details on the rebuild?

I'm not one to be a dick but you really need to work on your grammer skills...

And the engine isn't "sick" unless the guy built it with stronger internals while he had it apart. If it was just a standard rebuild then its not a "sick" engine. When your running 10's, then it'll be "sick"

If I had internet access on weekends at work, threads like this would probably be slam dunked the second they popped up. :)
