i was wondering how much you can bore out the TB before it gets to thin or whatever.. i found 1 laying in the basement that i forgot about! i have a dremel and everything so i was gonna give it a try.. has anyone done it their self? can't be that hard is it? stock TB's are what about 53mm? i should be able to get it out to 60mm right? if anyone knows let me know.. thanks!

it is pretty easy i did mine like that, you really can only take out that little lip, other wise you need a bigger butterfly valve.

I believe the stock one is 48mm. You cant bore a throttle body with a dremel, you can gring out the lip inside of it. I used a dremel with the sandpaper disc and that worked pretty well. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose if its a spare.

I would do 55mm, anything above that is gonna get thin on the stock TB.
If you are not going turbo anything above 55 is gonna be too much, i have a 60 mm TB right now and a 55 would of been a better choice IMO.

since you can pick up a 1g TB for likw $50 that sounds like the easier way to go. Maybe i will mess with my 2g TB before i get a 1g, i also have a machineshop at my work. I think its pointless doing it unless your changing the butterfly.

The 1Gs won't work for the 420a. Totally different TB. Aren't those like 57mm or 63mm? FOr some reason that sounds familiar.
I'm getting mine done at a 55mm. Once I recieve my spare one, itll be sent out ASAP. Looking forward to that actually

that seems like a shit load of work lol .. if i can get mine out to 55mm 58mm that would be great.. ill settle for 55 if i have to. like i said i have a extra one layin down in the basement so even if i mess it up its no biggie. money's kinda tight with the baby and everything so all the stuff i can do w/ extra parts is gonna get done lol! thanks for the link maybe in the future if i have a day to kill ill give it a try!

first off -- taking of the lip isnt boring anything. Its porting at best.
2nd its a total waste of time.
Toss a 1g n/t on there (so you can loose the t/b elbow)
or a 1g-t throttle body. then spend your time port matching the intake to match the
new t/b-
seeings how your NT 420a - you may want to look into tossing a mustang t/b on there.
FYI 1g t/b's are 60mm compaire to 2g's 54mm
1g = left side 2g = right

He's running a 420a, not a 4g63. The 1g will NOT fit.

You edited it after I put that cause that was not there when I read it, anywho it doesn't matter now.
I was under the impression that the mustang TB fit the turbo's, not the 420a's but I may be wrong. The only 420a TB swap that I know if is the Jeep swap.
