I dont know what he was thinking...

Ok, I normally dont dip my Nova around... being 10.25:1 compression and being only 91+ Octane addicted.. its not the most economical vehicle. So I drive my Truck around to work and to friends houses. So... on my way home this evening I stopped at a light with my window down (cool summer evenings are great arent they?) and this guy rolls up in a riced Civic EX with a hideous body kit (dont get me wrong i like some body kits) and he had a 3 layer wing. I guess he just got all the kits on, and his Megomuff exhaust and wanted to race sommetthing...

So he's to my left, and he look up at me and says... "Yo man.. wanna run?" I just gave him a blank stare. Once again "Yo man... you game?" and he has the nerve to throw a Rev at me. Im shocked... this guy is serious... So i throw a lazy Rev back... Light turns green... I notice the guy only shifts down into Drive. I make this assumption cause his hand didnt travel all that far from Neutral. Myself, im in Low gear (1) and rally away. For a vehicle that weighs 5200lbs it'll get going pretty good. Off the line i had him, on through second gear i was ahead but not by much... and into 3rd he was just at my door. As i went into 4th (my OD) i eased off and the guy stopped next to me at the next light we came too, and had the nerve to say something to the effect of "you cheated". i couldnt make it out cause the light turned and he sped off trying to impress me or something.. I dont know. I sure as hell hope it was stock, cause if my '86 Blazer with 142K miles on its original engine could hang... thats Sad. Why do people do that? I boggles the mind...

So you beat him in a Blazer? Haha, I think the EX Civic has vtec too... some kid at my work has a 94 Civic EX w/vtec and wants to run me... if you beat him... I'm pretty sure my Z wouldn't have much trouble :P

Too bad you weren't in your Nova, I'm sure it would have made a much better kill story :)

Heh, maybe thats all he thought he could beat? Must suck for those guys that get beat by basically everything on the road... my cars not a speed demon, but at least it keeps up with most :)

Its pretty sad when a car wants to challange a Blazer. Must be tired of getting his ass handed to him by pretty much everything on the road (though its still happened)

hahahaha, sounds bout right. Ah well, if ya wanna race an 18sec car, pick on big ol trucks, or put alot of mods in. Dosent work though when you pick on a semi fast truck. :D

its a fullsize blazer... not a whole lot of power... i just know how to access it...

it seems like if someone was gonna get a car to mod it would be something decent, or at least a little faster than a civic ex with about 110 hp.

The EX has somewhere in the 120 hp range if I am not mistaken, regardless, I smoked a 94 EX in my Civic, I attribute this to his car being an automatic, and that my sedan is 400 lbs lighter than the 5th / 6th gen civic.
