2nd Generation Trunk/window Leaks

Leaking windows on 2nd Gen J bodies seems to be a common problem once they age....when you see water in the trunk, pretty good chance there is a rusted seam/lip hidden beneath the glass....what are people's experiences with this problem? Have you suffered a leaky trunk? How did you fix it? And is it more common on 2drs than 4 drs?

Posted it before, I'll post it again.
Here's how you define "leaky trunk:"

Those are obviously wheel well rust areas, not necessarily due to leaking rear windows and trunk seals. What I am discussing is leaks that come from up above, and leak down to the trunk floor/well,turning the spare tire cover into a soaked piece of cardboard.
However, thats the worst bit of wheelwell rusting I have ever seen! I would never have let it get that far without welding in a patch or using the SEM patch panel adhesive in gluing in a new square....
Wow.

You assume I know how to weld...
In fairness, it was sold as-is and the guy that bought it got it repaired in 2 days. Its now owned by another guy from the same car club who's been doing some work on it. Its starting to look like a pretty nice car nowadays.

C'mon people.....there has to be some 2nd gen (1988-1994) J body leaky trunks out there....it seems to be a common problem...both rear window area AND front window area. This is a built in GM design problem...no one is immune from this major flaw.Eventually ALL will leak.

From what I can gather, the majority of the leaking takes place within the vertical support between the wheelwell and the underside of the rear window on the driver side. This is a hollow, boxed reinforcement, making it impossible to get into this area to access any leaking.I URGE any and ALL 1988-1994 2-door coupe J Owners to peek into their trunks and raise the spare tire well cover....and check how deep the water is.There has to be a fix for this problem....before the trunk rusts away to nothing.

I read in a GM TSB for Berettas that roof seams that come agap over time leads to leaky trunks.Anyone have this happen with a 2 door J-car?
