A needle jet is not the same as a jet needle

You can remove the jet needle (sometimes called slide needle) by unscrewing the carb cap and pulling out the slide. Then, from the top of the slide (where the cable goes in), releive the spring pressure and remove the clip that holds the cable end in place, remove the cable, and the needle will slide out when you turn the slide upside down.
