O/T: Ephedra

For those into working-out and fitness, you may remember a ban on the weight loss core ingredient, Ephedra or Ma Huang. The ban was recently overturned by a judge. Does anyone have any information on how many mg per capsule the original Hydroxycut contained? Ever since the recent over-ruling by the judge, several ephedra containing supplements have come along, but with only 10mg per pill. I just want to compare the potency of both pills.

I wish I could remember exactly. IIRC it was a good bit more than 10mg. I didn't know it was overturned. :D

i know someone who recently died from that stuff,,if your smart you would leave it alone..there was a reason it was ban!!

every person who died from using it either had an existing serious health problem or didn't follow the manufacturer's recommendations. The pills are safe if you follow the dosage recommendations, do not have an existing metabolic or circuilatory disorder, and do not take them with other drugs (especially other stimulants). My friend has some pills called Lipodrene that contain 25mg of ephidrine and 10mg of pseduoephedrine.

I am thinking most everything that contained ephedrine was limited to 25mg.

I've never taken anything except whey protien. I dont anymore, though, I am content with my size (not much, but I am 6'3" and have a pretty small frame for my size) now I just want to be toned more.

I got it...20 mg ephedra alkaloids in the original Hydroxycut, versus the 10mg they have out now (per serving).

People forget that ephedra is just like any other medicinal item out there. If you were to pop someone elses prescription pills, god knows what would happen. Just like practically every other drug out there, ephedra is not for everyone. My brother, for example, is enzyme deficient and cannot have penicillin or vit-C under any circumstances. Ephedra worked well for me when I was taking it. It was like magic. But ofcourse, moderation in all venues of life is the best way to live...

Yeah i had some ephedra about a year ago. It gves you insane amounts of energy. I really don't like taking shit like that though.

I personlly don't udnerstand why people take supplements. I only know peopel that use like creatine and shit like that for when they are training for sports. I mean I think you should try to find things to help you that wont damage your body for sports and everything, but if your just doing lifting to keep in shape, why bother? I just don't get why you need to be super bulky if your not going to use that bulk for anything.

Well ehedra is a weight loss drug (well it's used in weight loss drugs) it gives you a lot of energy and supresses your apetite.
