yesterday i was driving my 88 5.0L trans am on the highway and my temperature started rising and my car started smoking. i pulled over and found coolant all over my engine and the inside of my hood. i found that under the intake manifold there is a small u shaped hose that apparently carries coolant. well that hose had a giant rip in it and i have been calling all over the place and even went to a gm dealership and nobody seems to have that part. if anybody knows what the crap im talking about and knows where i can pick up one of those hoses pleeeeeeeaaasssssseeeeee let me know. Thank you

just go to autozone and they will give u one. All hoses are made of rubber and can be purchased anywhere. You need to tell autozone the length you need and they will give u one.

Take the old one in with you, they might have a miscellaneous prebent hose that will fit.

That or just have them get you the same sized hose and put it on yourself.

Those small hoses will kink if you just use bulk hose cut to length. I have one like that on my 83 and had to order it from a dealer. They may not make them anymore. I have a GM parts manual, is that hose on the front or rear of the intake?
Edit: In the parts manual there is a u-shaped coolant hose called a throttle body heater hose on the front of the intake. If that is the right hose the GM part number is 10108509. Sometimes they will be able to locate one with the old part number. Hope that helps.

I also had to replace that hose, and a non molded one does not fit, it kinks up really bad. I took it to autozone and they were able to find one that matched, and I cut it to size.
