I have a 93 cavalier, five speed, that stalls out while i am driving. It ususlly happens while remaning at a constant speed, but has stalled while accelerating, decelerating and stoping. When it stalls it wont start for atleast a half an hour and has been taking longer to start up, up to two hours! I know it is a problem with the fuel because the only way to start it is with starter fluid. There are no error codes and restarting the ECU does not help. There seems to be spark and it stalls even while idling in nuetral. I just bought this car four days ago and it is already acting up. Can someone please help me?

Sounds like a bad fuel pump and/or relay.A lot of miles and lots of use have cooked them, and they are cutting out when hot.Try a relay first. You can force feed 12v to the pump by the loose connector in front of the drivers side by the firewall....when the car quits, run a jumper from the battery + to the open connector and see if the car starts. If it does, its a bum relay.

try that and check the fuel filter. also i used something called sea foam in mine and it runs lots better with more power than it had when i bought my car.it works wonders so i recommend using it.get 2 cans of it its a pint in 1 can. when the car is running slowly pour half a can in the carb. then fill the gas tank and dump the 2nd can in the tank.it costs about 7 bucks a can at autozone
