the LOUDEST EXHAUST I CAN GET

I need to know whats the loudest exhaust i can get. And I thought that some brand of cat backs exit out of the passenger side?

Custom if you want loud. Straight piping with no resonator back to a muffler of your choice. A canister type muffler will be loud. However, I wouldn't recommend this because you will be a target for the cops and plus it will sound awful.:( Just my opinion though.

5Zigen fireball with 2 or 2 1/4" piping from the header or cat back... lound as hell ... only car I heard of that got pulled over for having an exaust too loud.

You could always run straight pipe, with no resenator or muffler, That would be the loudest. Other than that do a custom made one. I had to replace my muffler when it fell off, ended up getting a custom done, cause i was strapped for cash. Its pretty loud, about 115 decibels at aroud 5 grand ( i tested it with a decibel meter from my work).i've had many cops behind me and have never been pulled over for it, even though it is louder than the legal limit. Although when i got pulled over for running a stop sign, The cop gave me a ticket for it but his excuse is that it wasnt legal.

hmmm, maybe a hole in the pipe somewhere.

all i know is i'd much rather hear my header (yum, engine noise)...than the loud ass exhaust :)

Where can i get one of those decible meters? I was thinking of going the 5Zigen route now it does exist on the right side? Is it cat-back? I thought with the exhaust that exited out of the right side it would eliminate those bad 90 degree bends for more hp. Or what do you think of skunk2

Its a custom 2.25" piping with NO CAT, NO RESONATOR, and a canister mangnaflow muffler. :D Its stupid loud, but in my town there are a lot of muscle cars and stuff with straight pipes, so I can kinda slip in under the radar.. Plus, cops in my town don't really care.

8000rpms the car screams beautifully.. I've been told it sounds like a bike on many occasions. I don't know if it does, but it sounds nice in VTEC.

My next plan though is to go with as quiet as a system as I can get. hehe.. Even when I'm driving normal too many people think I'm racing them and they take off. Plus it pisses all my neighbours off.

Why would you only want volume? Remove the whole system and put in straight pipping and you're sure to annoy everyone around you.

I rather have a deep tone than a high pitched bumble bee super bike sound.

well this is what i did and got a great loud deep sound out of it. its something modified me and my mechanic did. pretty much straight pipe but we had to bend and cut the fuck out of this pipe wich is 2 3/4. wich gives me a combination of power and nice sound.

lol i know what your talking bout. cars pull right next to you and they try to take off all quick like we're racing... lmao....i just keep on driving like its nobodies business. wanna race meet me at the track and i also do autocross so my time will even beat you. i got to many tickets to race on roads. it is funny as hell though

Uh guyz? Apexi makes some of the most quiet exhaust systems on the market...... DC makes a really loud system if you are trying to sound like a ricer........ Not that badly priced at $429 but don't expect to much performance..... I haven't heard the 5zigen fireball though so it might be louder that DCs.. If you want a loud exhaust go custom.. I was talking to a guy with a rex who had custom 2 3/4 straight piping that connected to a R1 muffler.... Looked like shit but was really loud and annoying... Just a quick question though... Why do you want a loud exhaust? Im a fan of sleepers, just so you know why I might not like loud exhaust.. My muffler rusted off and my exhaust is really load right now and it annoys me and every1 else around.. So again why? But hey if it looks cool and sounds good while being loud I give you props! Its just the ricers around here put really cheap, crappy looking and sounded exhaust systems on their cars and it gets really old really fast when they pull up next to you and rev on you like you love here their car sound like a pos!

We all have different tastes, thats all. I would have thought that would be an easy one to figure out. I think you might have us confused with certain ricers.. I don't rev on people at lights, I never have. I do my racing at the track.

I just wanted a lot of flow without spending 900+ on an exhaust system.

I have a 5zigen on my civ, it's pretty loud but very very deep sounding. Not like alot of the bee's in a can sound that i hear around here. It's only an axel back though. I tried using my stock mid section and it made my 5z sit all weird, so i ended up buying a 2-1/4 after market mid section works perfect now! And now my exhaust is full stainless! but in the end the cost was just about as much as a thermal or dc cat back. $250.00 +$200.00=$450.00. But i wouldnt trade my 5z for either of them.I like it loud!:D

my friend has 2-1/2" pipe no resonator and DC headers and a free flow cat, with an arospeed BOMB muffler on the end, it is loud as all hell, like shakes windows in buildings and stuff.

Loud deep sounding exhaust it cool... I will admit I like DEEP sounding exhausts... Its the cheap jobs that make peoples cars sound like loud weed eaters that I hate!

go get the cheapest muffler you can find. Now get a hammer and chizel. Bash a hole about the size of a baseball in the muffler. Bash a golfball sized hole in the resonator. Now you have your loud exhaust.


why the hell do you only want it loud? Most people get stuff because it's faster, not because it's louder. Are you just trying to piss off the neighborhood or what?

I have a friend with a jeep and he put dual glass packed mufflers on his car and you couldn't even talk in the car it was so loud. When I heard it at first I thought it was cool then it just got really annoying.... I want performance not annoyance!

i've been wanting to check the decibel level on my exhaust never thot to u se one from work(radio shack) thats a hella good idea.

We also tested my friends 90 prelude, it had a flow on it. That thing hit 135 decibels. His car was sooooo loud.

thats it im gonna buy one of those decible meters. How much do they cost?

Even though I'm new here I still can't understand why you'd want a really, really loud exhaust

I run a complete custom system, 2 1/4 glass packed muffler, hi-flow cat & custom headers mostly cos I' a poor student :( and I could only just afford that. Until I had a small hotdog resonator fitted it drove me and everyone else nuts. sure performance wise it helped but it sounded cheap and annoying.

I got pulled over one night on my way home from uni taking off from the lights quickly but not taking it to the redline, not even going over 60 Kph. The cop wasn't a pig and I managed to talk my way out of it. I'm sure that if it even looked like I was trying to race they would have thrown the book at me... is it worth it?

With the small resinator I've lost no hp and gained a car that isn't annoying and doesn't sound like crap.

:( i don't like mine. after the fender bender...i kinda had to get it. i wanted to go jdm but at the time the front end wasn't straight enough and i was getting pulled over daily ( :finger4: ) by cops who thought i was an easy ticket with no ins. :rolleyes: whatever. hopefully before the year is up i'll go jdm :D

I laughed when I read your post, all these kids spending hundreds of dollars on catback exhaust systems when I spent a mere $79+tax and had full custom. My exhaust is like so...

from header... 2.25" piping to glasspack, 2.25" piping to second glasspack, 45 degree bend with polished "flashcut" tip poking out in front of passenger side rear tire. The flashcut tip is one where the end is cut diagonally so it runs flush with the body of the car, it's loud as hell and looks pretty badass. Just be carefull going over speed bumps and whatnot, if you're ever in GA/SC give me a buzz and i'll hook you up with the shop I had mine done at. I might have to go purchase a decibal meter, mine's loud as hell, haven't been pulled over yet!

P.S.

The exhaust setup I have currently was installed after running around with no exhaust from the header back for about a week. After living with that kind of noise for a week even my extremely loud exhaust sounded quiet by comparison.

DONT LAUGH!!! i actually had a muffler from YAMAHA R1 custom welded onto my car, goood deep sound, not too loud but not too quiet either, sounded really good

i would go with the apexi N1 exhaust, str8 pipe, and 4 into 1 header and you will hear it scream..
