2000 Z71 a/c will not shut off

Ac wont shut off it i push the ac button, it will only turn off if i turn the fan off.Only then will you here the compressor go off.

Any Idea, mabey a sensor or ac switch?

have u tried turning the vent to the defrost setting instaedof the vent setting?

Yes, it stays on it if i turn it to defrost aswell, it just never turns off when i push the ac button.

Mine (same year/model) does the same thing; the indicator light on the AC button will go out, but the AC compressor keeps running until I turn off the fan, or the truck. If I haven't turned off the truck, the compressor will kick back in if I turn the fan back on, but if the trusk has been shut off, the compressor won't come on until I turn to defrost and/or push the AC button. Kind of annoying, huh?

Any other ideas guys?
