My car isnt goin into its normal fast idel when i start it up cold......
i have to hold the gas down a little bit while it runs really rough......
Then little by little it goes into a faster idel and then i can tap it to go into its normal idel after it warms up a little bit........ and then it runs great!!!!

what could be wrong??????????

my timing is past the 12 mark if there was like a 16 or an 18 thats were it would be.............. we tried to get it closer to 0 but it seems like the closer it got the car would run even worse.................

i would definetly look into the vacuum system. I assume you have a vacuum advance right?

What is controlling your distributers advance curve, electirc or vacuum is what it means.

if you go to just about any parts store you can get a cheap vacuum guage. Even some boost guages will show vaccuum. Anything that will measure negative pressure. Hook the guage up to one of the vaccum ports on the carb and see what it reads.

Hook the guage up to one of the vaccum ports on the carb and see what it reads.

Careful with that statement, as not mix up manifold with ported vacuum.
