I found out today that i have developed a gas leak. So, i crawl under the car to see what was up. I found that just above the seam in the gas tank (where the top and bottom are welded together) is rusty, and I wasnt sure if the leak was coming from there, the whole tank was wet with gas. Has anybody here replaced the gas tank? if so how much was the part. Just deciding weather to have somone weld it, or just get a new one.

Ever heard of JB Weld? If not go to your AutoZone and ask for it.. It's great and works just like a weld with no sparks, just drain the tank first.....

I filled my tank, and thats when i realized that I have a leak. I would get the welding professionally done, so i'm sure they know what to do, even though I am a welder myself. I live in Toronto, and to the best of my knowledge we don't have Autozones here, but I will look for that JB Weld elsewhere. Do you apply this stuff internally or externally, Thanks for the help guys!

It's like an epoxy... But is used on engine blocks and pretty much anything... Apply it from the outside since that would require less work...
