Now i know SI'S come with sunroofs but did OTHER models come equipped with them? ..could it be an SI just not say it??!?!? also what are some KEY signs that it is an SI?...so incase i read an ad that doesnt say si but seems like it ide know..thank u

well the SI's came stock with the right side mirror and a tach, but was optional on the DX's, on the trunk should be an SI emblem and it should have MPFI under the hood and not PGM-FI or DPFI.

It could be an aftermarket sunroof.

As far as key features you'd be better off calling and asking if it's an Si if you even have the slightest hope (IMO).

when i bought my car it just said sunroof. guy had no idea what model it is. here are the key things to look for:

1) color matched bumpers
2) pass. side view mirror
3) electric sunroof. beware it is possible to have an aftermarket sunroof. the best way to tell if it's stock is if the headliner is molded down a little where the glass slides back into the car.

you could always request the VIN # over the phone and then go to www.carfax.com and run a frre check. if i remember right it will tell you the model of the car.

good luck :D

Also check out autotrader.com, it took me 4 months to find a unmodded clean SI and i had to drive 6 hours there and 6 hours back to get it. All the close ones i saw were either rusted, very bad condition, or modded (funner to do it all urself i think) they are out there tho, its just how picky u are gonna be before u get one. I kinda of wished i got a CRX but those are virtually impossible to find a clean unmodded one, but couldnt wait any longer so i got a hatch -Good Luck

oh ya i almost forgot i dont like autotrader.com too much for some reason all the cars i find on it are over priced alot

yep, i want to make my own creation also. I would suggest trying to find one from a older guy. He was asking 4800, i gave 3800 cash. I know i overpaid slightly but to me it was worth it. The car has 108000 miles but it is absolutely mint, completely stock (u know some kid didnt have a fun time with it), and was taken care of. Autotrader is good because u can look all across the US compared to the classified which is mostly local

BTW, my Si is PGM-FI also, what do i need to make it MPFI??? Would it make a consider difference or not worth the money for the short time i will be keeping the engine?? Did some Si's come with MPFI or was it the CRX's that came with it??

yikes! :apoke: you guys...i;m gonna pretend i never heard any of that. PGM-FI is MPFI....the p = programmed. no point in saying PGM-FI. DPFI=Dual point fuel injection....MPFI=Multi point fuel injection.

now i'm gonna back slowly outta this room...like i never walked in. ;) :lol2: ;)

haha ami! Yeah I have limited knowledge with our 4th gens so far, well compared to Ami who knows almost everything :hehe: . However I am smart enough to know that PGM-Fi is the fuel injection system whether it be multi or just dual point injection. And making an ass of yourself in the forums sometimes helps :D I said you couldn't lock your door from the inside when it was open but I was wrong! Now that I know how I use it all the time......

it's all good...just having a little fun. actually, the dumbest thing i have ever done was trying to use the (88-91 Si) a6 distributor with the ('00 EX) y8 ecu. by the end of the day we were all tired and not thinking clearly. after going home, resting, re-thinking it more clearly, and then checking with a few people about what i figured to be wrong....it was suddenly clear that was THE DUMBEST thing i could have possibly over looked. :toothless :bloated: :licker:

i'll be the first to addmitt when i did something stupid...so other won't do the same thing.

this time i just had to have some fun...
;) :lol2: ;)

ps. i've had 4 4th gen hatches, 1 3rd gen, a 4th gen accord, and used to mess around with my man's old REX over 8 years time. i'd have to be :smoker2: some serious crack to not pick up a think or two :D yes, i'm addicted to cars

sorry but the PGM-FI is not MPFI, i have the PGM-FI on my crx, and i have the DX model, not the SI that had MPFI imprinted on the intake manifold.

PGM-FI is the fuel injection system name not the fuel injection point system itself! Programmed Fuel Injection that is what it stands for!!!! Go here and read about it if you don't believe me!http://asia.vtec.net/beystock/hondata/ and while you are at it

Yeah, the reason I said this earlier is because crxlvr said that Si's would NOT have this printed on the intake manifold. This is not the case.

sweet jesus...aparently i have to take short hand and turn it long...

for those who said "i have a Si and it says PGM-FI...i want to convert to MPFI" i was saying you have the MPFI. there is no point in saying PGM-FI MPFI when they all say PGM-FI.

Si has MPFI=Multi point fuel injection
DX has DPFI=Dual point fuel injection

if you have a Si you do not need to do the MPFI conversion. if you have a DX, you do have to do it.
