89 Suburban 5.7 litre. Just got done repairing head gasket and now need to install the original rocker arms and torque or tighten them correctly. And I did buy new nuts for the rocker arms. Using engine rebuild grease on all contact points.

I came across this link but does anybody have any better instructions for this procedure?? Any other suggestions would be a great help.

This is a good article on the subject http://chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/148_0303_valve/

Zero lash means that the push rod no longer moves up and down (it does not mean that you can not turn or spin the push rod).

Specs are Zero lash plus one turn; although, a 1/2 turn should be fine.

I adjusted the rockers last night but did it with a cold engine instead of warmining it up. Is this going to cause problems.

Also there was about 2 quarts of coolant that came out when I drained the oil - this would be caused from the blown gasket that I just fixed- will this cause problems. Engine turned over easily with a ratchet.

After you run it for a while, you may need to readjust the valves with the engine warm. If they are too loose you will hear them. If they are too tight, the engine will not have power in the upper RPM range.

As far as the coolant in the oil, as long as you did not run it like that, you should be fine. Of course, that also means that the leak is also gone.
