LX odyssey crossbars on EX

Does anyone know for sure if the factory crossbars that come with the LX Odyssey racks can be used on an EX Odyssey? I've called two dealers, both of which say they can't, but the guy I'm trying to sell them to (he has an EX with the side rails installed) called his dealer and that guy said they'd fit no problem.
