Electric Cutouts

With getting headers installed later this summer, I was considering cutouts just for the hell of it. How are the reliability on electric cutouts? Do they leak easily or do the seals wear out over time? Basically, will they stay closed tightly when I want them to and open up with no problems either? Any insight would be useful, thanks.

I honestly dont see any pros for getting an electric cutout, I mean it costs alot of money (Im guessing) must be a bitch to put on, and then you can encounter problems in a problemless area (Aside from putting em on)
And just for a couple of seconds when you DO race? I dont know, would rather save up for something better.

Well, I just wanted them for the noise. Nothing quite like the roar of open headers on an American V8. (Nothing quite annoying either, some would say.)
I don't know, just a thought. I would have them right after the collecters and would just open them up to brag about them, that's all. After the headers are done, I'm pretty much done with any performance mods. Except for brakes and probably tires in the future, the rest of the money I have is going to be for maintaining the vehicle.

Well i'd start looking into bottlefeeding the car or even super/turbocharging it..
You can modify your car in endless ways, you're never really 'done'

QTP electric cutouts are like $150 a peace. a SES light might be tripped everytime they are opened though.
