tranny swap

does anyone know if the tranny from a 5sfe will bold on to a 3s block? (the camrys a 92 and the celica is a 91)?

yes it will
3sgte and 3sge and 3sfe it will bolt up
but if your car didnt origianlly have a 5sfe you will need new axels

im asking cause i swaped the gte head and turbo onto my camry but i wana use the 3s block because its in better condition but i wasnt sure if it could fit onto the stock tranny

btw what bar you using on your upper font tower?

have you wired in the gte harness into your 5sfe harness?
i would STRONGLY reccomend diong it with both harnesses out of the car
its from a celica gt-s that was stolen, wrecked, and beat to hell, with a 3sgte swap....but its just a standard gt-s one

actually yeah i did start doing that but now i want to put an aem ems and they only make it for celica so im looking for a celica harness. unless the camry harness will fit the connection but i doubt it cause i was looking at the pin configurations? anyone know where to get a celica harness?

wait time out, what engine do you have in there, what harness are you using, and what tranny are you using?

if you have a 3sge you cannot use a 5sfe harness

i used to have a 5sgte using the camry harness - some mods. now i want to put the full 3sgte in and use an aem ems for celica to control it so i need the wiring harness but i cant find one

edited: i re read that, first off you must wire the 5sfe harness INTO the 3sgte harness, you CANNOT use a 5sfe harness w a 3sgte head on a 5sfe block, it just wont work you will have to use the 3sgte harness and wire in all your power stuff like headlights dash and all that, if you used soly the 5sfe harness you will have negated the whole purpose of the head swap, plus it wont work anyway bewcause the 3sgte runs on coil packs and an ignitor and a 5sfe runs on a distributor, not DLI

why didnt you just use the whole 3sgte head and block in the first place? it is much stronger and can wtihstand more power/boost.

i didnt have enough money to rebuild the 3s block at the time. but 5s block with a gte head does work with the 5sfe wiring harness. iv run my car like the harness just needs modifications. but yeah, im going to do what you suggested if only i could find a 3sgte wiring harness because the one that came with my engine was cut

did you use the 3sgte head or 3sge head
like i said if its a 3sgte head your negating the whole purpose of it by using the 5sfe harness, you are not retaining the knock sensor, and your a/f ratio is probably richer than bill gates, its just a stupid idea, and you wont have any kind of fuel managment for the turbo so your risking alot by using that

btw what timing belt did you manange on using?
