Difference between Auto & 5speed B16A's

hey all - just got my new B16 longblock today. It looks very clean...and i got it from hondamotorsonline...thanx for the suggestions everyone :) Now, it came with a flex plate - where the flywheel should be if it was originally a 5speed.(of course the serial number starts with a 1 - XSi) MY QUESTION IS: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE AUTO & STICK MOTORS.....ARE THE CAMSHAFTS ON THE 5SPEED VERSION BETTER? i am curious because i have some 5speed camshafts leftover from my blown motor. i need to know asap...thanx for the help that you're sure to give!

the cams should be the exact same on either engine, however, the one you have may be less worn then the one you got, so you can replace them if you want, but i doubt anything is different other than the Clutch instead of a torque convertor.

i heard that the auto b16 cams are less radical then the stick b16 cams. so i suggest you do swap the cams

I second the difference...Cams are different along with the ECU...redline on AT is slightly lower...:)

yeah an auto b16 ecu rev limiter is at like 7400. my friend has an auto b16 ecu is his car and it hits rev limiter around 7400

Wait, u have a 5 speed and they sent u a automatic motor??? Maybe im just confused.

as are valvesprings
ECU has diff redline
get it re chipped
and add somr ITR valvesprings
