Hey,

Just another new guy. Not a gearhead - but I try to do what I can. Major repairs go to the shop. Anything else is weighed between difficulty and repair time. Time is something I don't have a lot of.

I'm a family guy (4 kids) that likes to travel and camp. Been to 48 states and 8 Provinces. I own a 98 Suburban (1500 - 4WD 125K miles) and a 96 Dodge 15-passenger van (180K miles). I haul family, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, youth groups, lumber, furniture and band equipment - so small vehicles are out of the question. :-) In the past, I've owned an 89 Aerostar (ugh!), an 84 Suburban (230K + miles), an 80 Ford Fairmont and a couple old beater Econoline vans. Took them all well over 100K. Never sold a car for more than $1.

My brother is a gearhead - but he moved far enough away that I can't hit him up for help anymore. My FIL is a retired Ford Electrical Engineer. Smart dude. He's out of state - but a good resource for complex electrical issues.

Looking forward to chatting.
