if i put an aftermarket turbo kit on my 98 eclipse gs will i fail smog or affect it ?

Yes. You probable wont fail the exhaust test unless you are running really rich, but when they do the visual check they will obviously know you added the turbo, which is against emissions laws.

Depends on somewhat where you live and how crooked the person that inspects it is, maybe just flash him a $20 or somethin and you'll pass. I've heard about people doing that before but like I said, it depends on where you live.
