Headlights malfunctioning...

The low beam headlights on my 99 durango will not turn on. I have checked the fuses and the bulbs and they are all good. The high beams will turn on but only when I pull back on the switch. They will NOT stay on like they do during normal operation. Also, the parking and fog lights still work normally.

Tomorrow I am going to take a meter to see if the low beams are getting power when the switch is on but can somebody offer any suggestions as to what the problem can be? Is there a relay somewhere associated with the headlights? The manual and fuse box covers do not label any relays as associated with the headlights. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The problem was the blinker/high beam/windsheild wiper switch. In easily unscrews and I replaced it with a $35 Autozone one.

There are two tamper resistent torx screws holding the switch in place. All this means is that there is a tiny bit of metal in the middle of the torx head which prohibits a regular torx bit from entering the screw head. Just get a nail punch or somethings similar and bang the tab side to side and it will pop off. You will see what I mean and easily understand once you take the steering column sheild off and examine the switch. Good luck.
