Problems swapping head units

I just swapped my deck (Panasonic CQ-8300U) from my old Pontiac Grand Prix into my new 2002 Silverado and am having issues. When I first put it in, it worked fine, but I took it out to fool around with the deck installation kit and now its not working. I know I'm getting power to the deck because the red security light is blinking on the head unit. But the detachable faceplate isnt getting any juice. So I tried hooking up the stock head unit to see if it was the truck or the deck, and the stock head unit lit up, took cds and spit them out, and thats it. It didnt read cd's, the radio didnt work, it didnt display a time. Could it be bad wiring in the truck thats causing the problems?

Check Fuses and/or also try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and see if it resets the computer? Maybe you tripped something in the Computer??

I forgot to mention that I did check the fuse in the back of the deck. Is that the one you were referring to? Also, I disconnected the battery for about 30 min, but I'm still having the same problem.

If you have a multimeter; test the pin/socket that plugs into your receiver. Make sure BOTH the switched 6v and the constant 6v wires are getting juice when the key is turned.

If you still have the pontiac; can you throw it back in there and see if it works? Or did you cut the wiring harness out of the pontiac and re-attach it to the Chevy?

Don't have a multimeter, but I could throw it back in the pontiac... they both used the same wiring harness so all I'd have to do is plug her back in... but I wont have time to do that until this weekend. Several people in another forum suggested that I check all my ign/fuses. Maybe I blew one of these and thats the problem?

get your owners manual out and figure out where your radio fuses are and check both of them, i bet 1 is blown. should be 1 in the cab on left side of dash and 1 under the hood. the book should tell you which 1 it is and it not you could pull them out 1 by 1. hope this helps.

It was the one in the dash... didnt even think to check the fuses for the radio lol. Thanks for all the help... makes the 3 hour drive everyday a little more enjoyable with a working radio.
