How do I do this?

Hey all !!! I just bought a used 1993 Chyrler Lebaron Convertible. I cannot get the roof to go down. I push the button....I hear the motor running but the roof must be locked somehow....Does anyone know how to unlock the roof to put it down?

Pull back the fabric lining on the roof, there are levers that connect to the locking mechanism for the convertible roof that need to be let off before you can take it down.

lol you should have asked whoever you bought it from .... but ya put down the sun visors and pull back the fabric and there will be a lever looking thing you pull.. pull the left and right one then press down on the button in the middle by the armrest thing... then make sure you close the levers again before you drop the top.. and then continue to put it down...

Just an owner note. When putting your top back up, you may want to lower your windows a bit, especially the (rear) shark fins. Sometimes the top doesn't quite line up & forcing it (to lock it in place), will chip the glass. If your rear windows don't go down (most all don't), you can push the window down by hand a little bit, which I did before chipping the other window.

i've found the easiest thing is to put the rear windows up about 5", then when the top is in place put them all the way up. that way there is no strain on the top or the windows like you said.
