I am currently thinking about looking at a 1986 v6 mustang. I have one question about it. I know that the 3.8's in the t-birds have tooones of head gasket issues (nearly everyone in the paper says needs head gaskets) as far as i know there the same engine yet i dont see mustangs saying need headgaskets all the time. Is the one int he mustang better? Or do they ahve the same problems

The one im looking at is a 1986 3.8L coupe with 145 000 Km's on it.

I know 94-98's do, i'm not 100% sure but I think they do.

the 99 and up mustang v6's have no head gasket issues though, they were fixed.

The 3.8L V6 Tauri had head gaskets blow like clock work and I know it was the same engine used in the Thunder Bird.
