How many miles can you go on average to a full tank of fuel in your Intrigue?

well a lot of it would depend on which engine a person had, the 3.8 or the 3.5.

I have the 3.5 and I would trust it to 300 on a tank easily. The worst miles per gallon I have ever gotten is 19, and i usually average in the low 20s with a lot of stop and go driving not to mention a heavy foot. The best ive seen i think is either 26 or 28, i cant remember...

But either way we have a 17 gallon tank, so in theory even at my worst mileage i should be safe for 300 miles....my gas gauge light usually comes on when I have about 3-4 gallons left, and im usually somewhere in the 240-260 range on my trip meter when that happens.

I do more highway travel (43.6 miles each way to work) and I have a busted fuel gauge which means I rely on my trip odometer. If my travels are mostly highway, then I can comfortably travel 400+ miles without worry of runing out of gas. If it is short trips, then I normally re-fuel at 275-300 miles.

I get about 400 miles per tank with my 3.5 . I get about 100 miles per quarter of each tank as indicated on the gauge.

I just filled up and my '99 3.5 got 192.2 miles outta 12.59 gallons, for a whopping 15.25mpg of all city driving. And that's actually better than average for the last year+. Gauge was at about 1/8 tank left before fill up.

I've had the car just over 2 years. For the first year, it got a solid 19mpg/city every time. I fill the tank and reset trip odo every time to keep track. For the past year now the mileage has gone down the crapper.

I've had new GM platinum plugs put in, some $180 fuel system cleaning, fuel filter checked, ran some chevron techron thru it. Have used Mobil 1 exclusively. GM dealer doesn't know what to do. I do have 2 leaky tires but they're filled regularly and I don't think that's the cause. It's just frustrating to see the tanks burn fast and not know WTH's going on. Gotta be something!

The odd thing is that I've gotten decent enough highway mileage on the few trips I've taken during this time. Each trip was around seven hundred or so highway miles there-and-back, plus around-town driving at destination and I averaged around 26mpg. Traffic was mostly light and driving in the 75-85mph range.

I'm open to any suggestions, have injectors checked? I don't know enough about the newer cars to do my own work on'em. Other than the mileage I've been quite happy with the Olds.

I would try some simple things like check your air filter and change the PCV valve. About $10 in parts and 15 minutes of your own labor may do the trick.

I got about 296 miles on my last tank (or well 11.8 gallons).

I can't wait until I can take the highway to school everyday next year (25 miles each way) so I can get better gas milage. lol

I changed my oxygen sensor last weekend. What a big difference. The car runs like new again. My last fill up was 23 mpg.

I drive like dtownfb about 43miles to and from work, but i took my 2000gl out west lst summer. With extreme self control keeping it at 65 mph gave me 34.3mpg. I was doing over 500miles to the tank, until I got above about 4000ft. Normally it does about 320miles before the light comes on then I know I can go about 100 more miles. 420 leaves about a gallon in the tank at fill-up.

I normally get about 24/city, last trip to Iowa @ 70-90 mph averaged 31.5, so using 14 gallons (don't want to run out...) ...

24 x 14 = 336 miles
31.5 x 14 = 441 miles
27(combined) x 14 = 378 miles
the combined number is very close to what I usually see

2002 3.5
