Tamiya R33 Calsonic Skyline. Basically built OOB, but used CF decals for the front engine pan, door panels, seat and rear diffuser. It was the first time I’d used CF Decals, and found them a little tricky. Sprayed the model with Tamiya TS Blue, to match the Calsonic blue, and micro meshed with 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000 and then used Tamiya fine and finish compounds to finish the job off. Waxed with Tamiya wax once the deals were all applied.
I masked the glass using a technique I’d read about, as the kit contained no window mask templates. Used a very soft leaded pencil to make the outline and used Tamiya 40mm width tape and carefully cut the outline showing through the tape. Worked out well, and looked clean.
I should have used P/E for the hood pins, and I didn’t change the seat belts, but I did dunk all the kit chrome in oven cleaner, and used various Alclad II to repaint them. I also tried my first heat staining on the exhaust, and use BMF for the heat shields. Overall, the model turned out looking OK, and I was happy with the result. Took me only two weeks to complete over the Christmas Holidays, my fastest build ever at the time.
Enjoy.

Hi Paul,
I took a timeout from the forum for a little while, spent the last few weeks lurking around, decided to post a few models I've been working on. Lets just say a few members (mostly newer members who seem to have now gone) rubbed me up the wrong way..!!:shakehead

Really a clean and well done job Mick: as said this is one of my preferred GTR and it's comic I haven't it in my collection: I need to find out one before is more difficult.
Once again it's really good to me see you back but to be honest if you have something to say please be clear or, as said from mikemechanic, everyone feel himself involved.
You and some other know: I like to take this hobby and relationship around on boards easy and I love jokes over: if that offend you I'm sorry, but I can't say "I'll be care next time": it's just the way I like to express myself.

Many thanks for the comments. Gionic, Mike I wouldn’t worry, the couple who were guilty seemed to have now gone, or I’ve not seen them around since lurking for a month or so.
It’s all history now, there is little point in dwelling on it, and if I did I wouldn’t have posted the models for you to all look at. Gionic, I know you express yourself, it’s just your Italian charm (j/k), and I’ll publicly say that I did have a few pm’s asking where I was and can I post links to some of my models, as the pictures had gone. Was kinda nice. Let me just say, many of you on this board are talented artists, and it was a shame I was rubbed up badly over something so trivial, let’s just say during October /November I was under stress from bloody exams…. Let’s just leave it at that.

Hi
Very good and clean build. Love it. Love Skylines!
I would argue that there is a slight error though. Wheel nuts are colour coded each side of the car - like red on left and blue on right. Not front / rear.
Not that it detracs from the fine finish - just an adjusment if you meet a rivetcounter ;-)
