Cruising around on Saturday trying to get to Pepboys for some oil and saw a nice looking Porsche hauling ass onto the freeway. I decided to give a little chase and play a little, but with the amount of traffic, it was hard to really do anything major. As the car pulls along side me I see its a local member of our forums and I know his reputation and decide that I needed to make a move :wink: . We both missed our turnoffs cause we were messing around, so we exited the freeway and headed back the opposite direction on the frontage road, with you guessed it......straight open road.:grinyes:
We line them up and went at it from about a 40 roll. Admittedly, we were pretty close, but in every gear I was inching him until the top of 4th when we shut down and I had a full car lead!:p
Unfortunaltey, we only got to run that one time, but we talked and agreed it was a clean run. I have to admit I am pretty stoked about this one. Best part is that I am on my street tune (22psi on 91 octane)!!! Ive still got 8psi more boost to go:grinyes:

That can't be right can it?? I don't fell like searching, too late and too tired but aren't they more a round the 500 mark, maybe even in the 400 range.
Edit : Did a search anyway, kinda hard to sleep when these things are on my mind. Went for the easy way out, not to good with all these Porsche numbered cars(911, 933, 966, 996, GT2, GT3, I have no idea about the differences) so I just searched Porsche's top car, the Carrera GT.

415 from an N/A 6, wholly shit, the possibilities once you force induce, gotttt dayummmmm!!!!! 80 % of the 8 cylinders dont even make that much.
Hell, some V/I 6 TT's dont even make that much, damn European engineers sure know how to make use of their cc's.

TT=twin turbo :wink:
The car makes that 415 with both its turbos working.
I dont have a prob with paper racing, but it only works when the right car is being quoted. Other than that, paper race on!! :smokin:

just wait till the new 997 TT comes out, it will have 480hp. and they're gonna come out with a S package that would put it in the 500hp range. but yeah great kill. how do you put down all that power to the front wheels?

Should be a goor race when those come out. 500hp at the crank Im sure, so once it hits the street, lets say around 460-470hp. Still ALOT of power!! Id probably have to turn up the boost for that one.
I was at 22psi when I ran that 996. That 22lbs puts me at 430hp at the wheels.

Who said anything about being Twin Turbo? SRT-4's are single turbo.
And for the record, Porsche 911's are RR (rear engine/rear drive).

Actually from a higher roll a bigger single turbo would be better than a twin-turbo setup because it makes more boost and therefore more power. Consequently, they take more to spool up (more lag), however at highway speeds that downfall is more or less absent.

remember though, a 750hp on high boost/race gas can be a 450hp on pump gas on the street. so just cause one guy has a 1000hp car doesnt mean that a 500hp car cant beat him.

where is everyone getting 750hp from?
This car is AWD. Other 911s may be rwd, but this one is not.
