I have a 89 caprice 305 TBI i have a 350 tbi waiting to be swaped witht he correct ecu chip but my question is this everytimg i brake hard or take a hard left it stalls out even on a full tank of gas then it needs to be cranked a few time to get her started back up once she starts it has a burning smell like as if there was water in the tank or something along them lines something other than gas comming through the system umm if this help i had replaced my map sencer and had to use a shorted vacume hose witch has left my map sitting on my distrubtor my guess would be when i turn/break mabey my map moves and creates a vacume leak with the map dosent read and stalls but ive chevked and no signs of it moveing since its pinned between the air cleaned and the dist. i may try iso heat to remove any water that may be in my tank but with a full tank i dont see the water mixing down to the pickup sock ? mabey someone may be able to help im very mechanicly inclined and have done every bit of work to my own car including new head gaskest timeing tranny and so on i love her to death lol and just the problem fixed befor i swap my 350 in her. also one other thing mabey doed this car happen to have a fuel cut off sencer of some sort that may shut my fuel down when i break/turn ? any help would be much appreciated :) ty in advance also i have not tryed to take a hard right yet to see if it happens i have just noticed it left turnd since i have a one wheel wonder and left turn will make her kick sideways lol :)

Oh, sheesh. I am not going to even attempt this one until it can be translated into English, using proper grammar.

Oh, you give up too easily. ;) Here's my interpretation:

I have an 89 Caprice 305 TBI. I have a 350 TBI, waiting to be swapped with the correct ecu chip. But my question is this: every time I brake hard or take a hard left it stalls out, even on a full tank of gas. Then it needs to be cranked a few times to get her started back up. once she starts, it has a burning smell like as if there was water in the tank or something along them lines something other than gas coming through the system, If this helps, I had replaced my map sensor and had to use a shorter vacuum hose which has left my map sitting on my distributor. My guess would be when I turn/brake maybe my map moves and creates a vacuum leak so the map doesn’t read and stalls, but I’ve checked and no signs of it moving since it’s pinned between the air cleaned and the dist. I may try iso heat to remove any water that may be in my tank but with a full tank, I don’t see the water mixing down to the pickup sock. Maybe someone may be able to help. Im very mechanically inclined and have done every bit of work to my own car including new head gasket, timing, tranny, and so on. I love her to death, and just want the problem fixed before I swap my 350 in her. One other thing - maybe does this car happen to have a fuel cut off sensor of some sort that may shut my fuel down when I break/turn? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance. Also, I have not tried to take a hard right yet to see if it happens. I have just noticed it left turned since I have a one wheel wonder and left turns will make her kick sideways.

DIM,

Water in the fuel will more likely exhibit problems at cruise and acceleration, not on braking. Discount that possibility for now.

You may be experiencing fuel pressure loss due to a loose pump mounting. I've had that happen before:

You should also check electrical connections at/to the pump.

There is no inertial/kinetic fuel cut-off switch. This is NOT a Ford.

I love her to death

Continuing to exhibit your "love" in the manner you describe may bring on that eventuality sooner than you may have planned. Don't take short-cuts. Do your repairs properly, and completely. It would be a good idea to secure your MAP sensor properly, just for general principles. Mount it away from the distributor so that HV leakage and inductance cannot interfere with the low voltage signal of the MAP. Just wedging it between the air cleaner and distributor is not a complete or proper repair. Running two screws into the firewall does not constitute a major overhaul.

Are there any stored error codes? If you are in fact losing MAP signal, there should be a related error code.
