fuel tank question

ok im going carb i just ordered braided fuel lines and fittings and all that, i want to use the stock tank, how would i got about hooking it up, i mean do i just put the fuel line in the tank or what thanks. alot

Modify the factory pickup tubes. Get some -10 AN (1/2" or 5.8" prefered) size hardline from a parts store. Cut out the two factory tubes that run down into the gas tank and bend the new bigger lines the same as the factory ones are. Then weld them into the stock "plate" that seals to the top of the tank.

I just dont like the -6 AN return. But since your not running any power adders or make huge power then it should be ok for now. Anything much more then what you have I would suggest at the very least to run a -8AN return.

If you have trouble getting your fuel pressure down at idle (should be 7psi) it will probably be due to having too small of a return line. -6AN is not big, seems like I've seen one with a -8AN return on it though. I would suggest you look around before you buy. Remember, a carb will need to return more volume where an EFI car returns more pressure.
