Hey guys and gals,
On 2000 Explorer Eddie Baurer edition, the display for the drives is wrong. Everything is moved down a notch. R is park now, D is neutral, 2 is drive and so on. We went over a pretty big set of rail tracks and shortly after that everything switched. It sounds like cable linkage was broken or came loose. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Aaron

Sounds to me like you need to adjust the PRNDL display cable. There is an adjustment screw near the column end and you should be able to dial her in. If that doesn't do it you may need a new one...about $25.00 from the dealer. As far as installation, unfortunately I can't help you with that, but I'd check a Haynes or a Chiltons or get chummy with your local tranny shop. Hope this helps. MM.

its easy to fix like said above there is a adjustment on the cable for the shift indicator just take the bottom panel off the dash and the metal panel that's underneath the first panel you will have to look around a little bit but its there on the right side of the column shaft and just turn the screw till it corrects itself if that don't work you will have to replace the whole unit not hard you have to take the cluster out and pop off the shift indicator and replace
