I was wondering what could help to improve my SQ. I really need to get away from walmart. But it's the closest thing around me that carries anything audio wise. Anyways, I was there and seen these Scorchse (spelling) filters for door speakers...are they worth the $8 or would I be better running without them?

I have never heard of those but I can tell you they are garbage. if you are not close to anything but walmart get your stuff online ebay or another goodsite is www.elementaldesigns.com (http://www.elementaldesigns.com) If your goal is to improve your sound quiality 8 bucks isnt gonna do it you need to amp your speakers and or subs,

I think your talking about the "bass blockers" i had some of those back in the day when i ran everything off the headunit. IMO they work ok because they filter all the bass from going to the speaker. better than nothing

The best and most common options for improving sq are 1. components with active crossover 2. amp with high pass filter turned on only allowing higher frequencies through 3. equalizer to control the tuning frequency even more before the amps. With car stereo good is not cheap and cheap is not good to get the best eq go with all three options but be prepaired to spend some money on it to get it sounding good.
