the GTO (and i assume its the VR4 model) is a lot better than a podunk chevy impala (NYPD uses these).

I've seen Italian police with the Lamboghini Gaerdo (SP?).

Ours are mostly Crown Vics and Camaros. Although we do have some intrepeds and explorers.

I wish the cops here drove those. I think i would like cops then:iceslolan . All we have are crown vics, impalas and tahoes.

ya, we have a few Z28 camaro's in Dallas, but most crown vics. still the v8 in the crown vic will git 'er dun. if its gonna be a cop car, let it be fast, something that can actually chase down a car. i say we all get Gallardos like Italy.

impala's are alright, i have no problem with a chevy product.

but its the intrepids. those car have so many problems, the engines are only good for about 70k miles. just a p.o.s.

round' these parts (Chicago) we've got nothin' but crown vics, and a few impalas. However, I have seen some pretty sleeper detective cars, such as a few mustang GT's (new 05 and 06' ones) some newer camaros, a few pontiac grand ams (like I said, sleeper, you wouldn't expect a cop to drive one of those), and I just recently saw one big ol' ford somethin' or other old ass SUV. The only reason I knew that they were cop cars was cuz they had someone pulled over...

I'm with Igovert. Get an Impala and tune it a little. These cops in Nebraska dont need to be driving Z28 Camaros around. Not mention, how the hell are you going to aprehend a suspect and put them in the back seat? It seems rather pointless to waste the gas and money on a nicer sport car.

i have no problems with chevy or dodge, but i have known 2 people with impalas that have had major problems before hitting 100k. 1 or them was my father. he bought his '00 new back in 1999 and it blew a headgasket at 60k. It happens i guess. The other was a friend in college. He bought it used though, with about 90k on the odo. was good for a few months, then had computer issues. After having Chevy fix it for him twice and have it happen a 3rd time, the dealership bought it back. Gotta love the lemon law :wink:

Yeah, that viper and Z06 are pretty nice cruisers.

Viper must be the pic that isn't working.

But there are some nice ones in there. Fastest one I've ever seen in person was the Camaro.
